Join ACE for a showing of art by the talented ACE Artist Grant winner, Michael Brzozowski.
Friday evening will be a gallery opening with the Artist, Mike Brzozowski featuring beverages & light snacks.Saturday afternoon the gallery will be open from 12PM until 4PM.
In 2020, Michael Brzozowski, was awarded the ACE Artist Grant to work on large scale Little Cottonwood Canyon landscape paintings. These paintings of Little Cottonwood will pull you in and have you experience emotions associated with the place we love, Alta. Join us for a showing and sale of the amazing 5 large paintings he created.
Artist Statement
My art is meant to create emotional associations that pull the viewer in, establishing an intimate connection to nature and place. My intention as an artist is to navigate between material and ideal ideologies that represent culturally sacred spaces. I believe art and the subject of landscapes have the power to transcend rhetoric. My drawings and paintings attempt to listen to the beauty nature can project and transform these observations into restorative narratives that empathize with the land. The literal and emotional principles of movement play an important role in directing me to explore visual methodologies in my drawings and paintings and the aesthetic philosophies that unify my creative processes. My desire to draw and paint focuses on culturally endangered spaces, and nature based expressive art narratives. The placed-based stories that I seek involve an empirical lens that bears witness to the vulnerable relationships of land and water towards modernity.
