Wasatch Wildflower Festival

Wasatch Wildflower Festival

Sunday, July 17th │ Alta Ski Area│Free │ Register

Held annually, the Wasatch Wildflower Festival is a multi-day event hosted at the four Cottonwood Canyons ski areas to celebrate the beauty and diversity of wildflowers in the Wasatch Mountains.  The 2022 Festival will be held on the following dates and locations:  July 9 (Brighton Ski Resort, in conjunction with the Brighton Institute’s Brighton Days), July 10 (Solitude Mountain Resort, and celebrating local artists), July 16 (Snowbird Ski Resort), and July 17 (Alta Ski Area).  The Festival begins at 9 am each day, and the last guided walk leaves at 1 pm.   The event is free, but registration is required and can be accessed here.

The Wasatch Wildflower Festival was co-founded decades ago by CCF Festival partner, Alta Community Enrichment.  The Festival is a special opportunity to educate visitors on how to ensure the protection of this important and unique natural resource. The Wasatch Wildflower Festival’s guided walks and activities are designed to be fun, family-friendly, non-commercial, free of charge, and open to all interests and ability levels. Volunteers share their knowledge and enthusiasm for an amazing variety of species on a variety of beautiful walks. The tours also reinforce careful stewardship and awareness of the ecology of the watershed environment. Come enjoy multiple days of wildflower walks, kids’ crafts, music, food and a healthy dose of the beautiful Cottonwood Canyons.

The 2022 Festival is highlighting the Alpine Shootingstar.  Original artwork for the event has been generously created by renown local artist Carolyn Keigley.  This year’s Festival is being cohosted with the Brighton Institute at Brighton and Solitude.  Snowbird Sustainability, and Alta Community Enrichment and Alta Environmental Center, are cohosting at Snowbird and Alta, respectively
