intro to preserving food: raspberry jam
Tuesday, March 14th | 6 PM | Our Lady of the Snows | $5 | Pre-Register
This is a beginners class into the world of food preserving, specifically canning jams. Students will learn why and how you do certain things in canning, including safety measures against botulism. Students will receive a copy of the recipe and a half pint jar of raspberry jam that we will make in the class. Raspberry jam is one of the easiest and most foolproof jams to preserve, which makes it an excellent first class.
Anna owns Smart Home Canning, and is a master food preserver who loves to teach others about canning and preserving. Food preservation is becoming a lost art and Anna wants to be part of the solution! She believes in the importance of being connected to our food, where it comes from, and understanding how to preserve it safely. Anna has been teaching mostly in Ogden, and is excited to spread her knowledge to the SLC area.
