In wilderness emergencies, the first 30 minutes are critical. This course teaches you how to approach any emergency systematically, ensuring safety first and addressing the most serious threats to life. Students will be introduced to scene safety, recognizing spinal injuries, providing basic stabilization, and using the MARCH protocol to find and treat life-threatening problems while awaiting for help to arrive. We will also introduce students to psychological first aid and the importance of addressing mental health when dealing with a traumatic event.
