Four skiers. One remote valley.
A journey far off the grid.
In the far reaches of Mongolia’s Altai Mountains, the Faction team sets out across expansive steppes and remote mountain peaks—
guided by nomadic stories, the pull of untracked terrain, and the spirit of collective exploration. Skis alongside camels, yurts and glacier camps; a far out trip into the unknown.
About the Project:
In May 2025, the Faction team headed deep into Mongolia’s Altai Mountains to produce a short film that captures the essence of exploration, culture,
and ski touring in one of the most remote corners of the world.
At its core, this is more than a ski trip—it’s an expedition where untracked terrain meets centuries-old nomadic traditions, and where the journey itself becomes the story. A 30hour bus ride, soviet era 4x4’s, camel caravans, and 4000m peaks; a most wild adventure, pushing the limits of freeride skiing far away from home. Join Sam Anthamatten, Cody Cirillo, Elisabeth Gerrtizen, and Andrew Pollard on the journey of a lifetime as they discover the Altai, the cradle of skiing.
