art practices to reduce stress

Tuesday, January 5th | 6 PM | Our Lady of the Snows | $10 | Sign-up Required

In this class, you’ll learn how to use art, nature, movement, creativity, and community connection as tools to support your everyday well-being. Through this hands-on art workshop, participants learn how the arts strengthen emotional resilience, reduce isolation, and build confidence in accessing arts and cultural resources. At the end of class, you will leave with your own personalized social prescription, practical ideas you can use right away, and hopefully a whole new way of thinking about what it means to take care of yourself.

What to expect:

Educational presentation: Introduction to Social Prescribing, why and how it’s effective
Art workshops: Zentangle Notebook Making & Glass Magnet Making

Jamie Covington believes our health toolkit should include more than pills and appointments. As an advocate for social prescribing and the founder of Prescribe the Arts Utah, Jamie is working to connect people with the arts, culture, nature, and community as meaningful resources for well-being. When not talking about social prescribing, Jamie can often be found thinking about skiing, writing about skiing (as author of The Ski Philosopher-Chairlift Thoughts), or preferably, actually skiing.

ACE aims to create an inclusive and accessible environment for all of our attendees; please contact our Executive Director, Sara Gibbs, with any questions regarding accessibility.
