Did you know that Alta Ski Area was at the forefront in allowing snowboarders on the mountain during the 1970s and early 1980s? Dimitrije Malevich from Winterstick snowboards even tested early board models at Alta. Lift access for snowboarders was discontinued in the 1980s and we want to share the stories of the early days of riding at Alta!

Join us to hear stories from people who experienced snowboarding at Alta and rode the lifts during that time. You’ll also have the chance to view a selection of early snowboards from a local collection.
