carve your own honey dipper

Tuesday, May 20th | 6 PM | Our Lady of the Snows | $5 | Sign-up Required

Come learn to carve your own honey dipper! Using only a couple of simple carving knives, we will learn the techniques to transform a chunk of salvaged wood into a beautiful and functional utensil. All tools, materials, and instruction will be provided so no previous experience is necessary. Each student will leave with their own honey dipper and the skill to make their own at home!

Grant Hawkes is a maker, wanderer, handtool addict, with a healthy dose of wool and herbal tea thrown in the mix. Born and raised exploring the woods and coastlines of Maine, he has always been fascinated with the outdoors and using his hands to make things. Grant completed various apprenticeships and extensive wilderness skills training as a teenager, and now spends his time as a handcraft instructor and wilderness guide. Having been profoundly impacted by the process of making things in wild places, he loves to share these opportunities with others whenever possible.

ACE aims to create an inclusive and accessible environment for all of our attendees; please contact our Executive Director, Sara Gibbs, with any questions regarding accessibility
