Origami 101
Thursday, May 14th | 4pm | Pre Register Here
Origami is a window into Japanese culture. The word origami literally means folding paper. Traditionally, all origami pieces are folded from a single sheet of square paper.
Apart from being a great tool in developing spatial reasoning and geometric understanding, origami also teaches patience and concentration. It can be therapeutic and creates a sense of achievement. But most of all, it’s fun!
In this one hour workshop, we will learn 3 different origami pieces.
Items needed:
5 to 6 sheets of square paper. It will be easiest to cut regular 8.5 x 11 sheets of computer printing paper into 8.5 x 8.5 squares.
Thanks to Emerson Center for the Arts & Culture in Bozeman, MT for inspiration for this event.
