apres art: watercolor greeting cards: painting winter scenes
Tuesday, December 10th | 5 PM | Our Lady of the Snows | $5 | Sign-up Required
In this class, students will be provided with greeting cards made from watercolor paper to create their own winter landscape scenes. Students will learn watercolor techniques and how to use negative space to create the appearance of snow when using watercolors. This class is open to students of all experience levels and everyone will leave with 1-2 5x7in hand-painted cards that they created throughout the course of the class.
Kristen is a self-taught watercolor artist and oil painter hailing from the southeast and is now based in Salt Lake City, UT. She was initially drawn out west for prime outdoor recreation and a closer connection to the mountains. She took up landscape painting as a way of capturing her adventures in the outdoors and sharing the wonder she feels in those places with others. Notable for her use of vibrant color and sharp detail, her landscape work highlights the wild beauty of the Wasatch mountains and the southern Utah desert. Above all, Kristen aims to create art that captures the wonder of these places that we all feel collectively when we visit them, as well as to honor that which is worth protecting in the West.
ACE aims to create an inclusive and accessible environment for all of our attendees; please contact our Executive Director, Sara Gibbs, with any questions regarding accessibility.
